The Izula / Imlay Secondary Retention Kit comes with retention strap, sheath button post, and screw assembly for use on Izula and Imlay sheaths. The strap is designed to be used on the Izula/Imlay knife only, not on knives with handles. If used on the Izula-II, then the handle must be removed. Please note that the strap will be considerably tighter on an Izula-II due to the extra handle length of the Izula-II.

To install, place the strap through the round pommel hole on an Izula or Imlay knife. Push the tail of the strap through the eye and cinch up tight over the retention projections. You may need to lubricate the strap with water, Vaseline or another substance to make the installation process easier.

The post can be installed on either of the two sheath holes at the top of the sheath. Adding blue Lock Tite to the screw threads will help insure the post does not work loose with use.

Be sure to sheath the knife before installing or removing the retention strap to avoid accidentally cutting yourself during the process.

Download the instruction sheet.
