This past weekend found us back in the mountain of North Carolina training with the MSAR teams on Saturday. As always, the MSAR training scenario was pretty awesome with about 2000’ of rope in play along with gin poles, rock pro, and dual tension systems. We had a total of 18 rescuers working on Horsehoe Rock.
On Sunday, a few of us did a recreational hike down the Wolf Creek watercourse starting at Wolf Lake dam and ending at the Bonas Defeat canyon exit. The scenery down Wolf just doesn’t get any better anywhere in the world. While we were there we all schemed up a pretty interesting technical rescue scenario and working to get this on the calendar.
