Light rain did not dampen the spirits of our students at our most recent Intro to Survival class. While the conditions made portions of the class more difficult, it also drove home the necessity to be prepared and the importance of practicing essential skills. The fire portion was particularly challenging; however, all students were successful in getting fire - quite an accomplishment given the condition.
One of the most exciting aspects of this class was the diversity of age, experience, and backgrounds in our attendees. We are seeing an increase in females and a younger demographic. We had a number of students with very limited field experience, so it is always exciting to see them dive in with a high level of participation. It’s no secret that the more you invest into the learning process, the more you gain. This class was a great example of that philosophy.
